A Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch is a networking device that allows you to provide both electrical power and data transmission to devices—such as wireless Access Points (APs), IP cameras, or VoIP phones—using a single Ethernet cable. This design simplifies installation and significantly reduces the need for extra power cabling. XikeStor offers PoE switches in various sizes, speeds, and power budgets to support a wide range of hardware deployments.
We offer four primary families of switches, each designed to meet specific networking needs and management levels:
Unmanaged Series: These are “plug-and-play” devices that require no configuration. They are perfect for home offices or small setups where you need to expand your network quickly and easily.
Simple Managed Series: Positioned between unmanaged and professional models, these provide essential management features like VLAN support. This is the ideal choice for users who want a balance of performance and control on a budget.
Layer 2 Managed Series: Engineered for high-performance business environments, these switches offer advanced management at the data link layer. They provide the stability and reliability required for growing corporate networks.
Layer 3 Managed Series: Our flagship performance series featuring advanced routing capabilities and high data-processing power. These are designed for mission-critical systems and large-scale, performance-intensive network architectures.
To find the perfect fit, consider the size of your network, the number of PoE devices you need to power, and whether your environment requires advanced Layer 3 routing.
The right speed depends on your specific application and future-proofing needs:
1GbE: Standard for daily office tasks, web browsing, and connecting IoT devices.
2.5GbE: The new “sweet spot” for high-speed home offices and gaming, offering 2.5x the speed of standard gear without needing expensive new cables.
10GbE: Essential for performance-critical tasks like NAS storage, 4K/8K video editing, and high-density server environments where every second counts.
We recommend 2.5GbE or higher for any new network installation to ensure your infrastructure remains fast and relevant for years to come.
